Description
The Serbian dinar is the official currency of Serbia, issued by the National Bank of Serbia. It has been in circulation since the breakup of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s, replacing the Yugoslav dinar and undergoing several redenominations to stabilize the monetary system.
One dinar is divided into 100 para, although para coins are no longer minted and are rarely used in everyday transactions. Banknotes are available in denominations ranging from 10 to 5,000 dinars, and coins from 1 to 5 dinars. The currency symbol is дин., and it is commonly abbreviated as RSD in international markets.
