The Philippine peso is the official currency of the Philippines, issued by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. It is divided into 100 centavos and is denoted by the symbol ₱.

First introduced in 1852 during Spanish colonial rule, the peso has undergone several redesigns, including a period of U.S. dollar circulation during World II and a post‑independence series featuring national heroes such as José Rizal. Modern banknotes and coins showcase cultural icons and are widely used in both domestic and overseas remittances.
