The Norwegian krone is the official currency of Norway, a sovereign nation in Northern Europe known for its extensive coastline, fjords, and strong maritime and energy sectors. One krone is divided into 100 øre, although øre coins were withdrawn from circulation in 2012, so cash payments are rounded to the nearest five øre.
