The Cambodian riel is the official currency of Cambodia, issued by the National Bank of Cambodia. Introduced in 1980 to replace the former riel and a mix of foreign currencies, it is subdivided into 100 sen, although the sen is no longer in circulation.

Banknotes feature national symbols such as Angkor Wat and the royal heritage, while coins are rarely used. In practice, the US dollar dominates larger transactions, and the riel is primarily used for everyday purchases and small amounts.
