The Jordanian dinar is the official currency of Jordan, issued by the Central Bank of Jordan. It is used for all domestic transactions, from everyday purchases to large‑scale commercial contracts, and provides a stable monetary unit in the region.

One dinar is divided into 1,000 fils, with banknotes issued in 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 dinars and coins ranging from 1 to 50 fils. The dinar is pegged to the US dollar at a fixed rate of roughly 1 JD ≈ 1.41 USD, making it one of the world’s highest‑valued currencies. Jordanian notes feature iconic archaeological sites and Arabic calligraphy, reflecting the country’s rich cultural heritage.
