IQD / ZAR

The Iraqi dinar is the official currency of Iraq, introduced in 1932 to replace the Indian rupee. It is issued by the Central Bank of Iraq and is nominally divided into 1,000 fils, although the sub‑unit is no longer minted or used in everyday transactions.

The dinar is commonly denoted by the Arabic abbreviation ع.د and the ISO code IQD. Its value has been highly volatile, reflecting periods of war, international sanctions and recent economic reforms. Despite limited convertibility, the dinar often attracts speculative interest in foreign‑exchange markets.
