Description
Tron (TRX) is a blockchain-based decentralized platform that aims to build a global free content entertainment system using distributed storage technology and allowing easy digital content sharing. Launched in 2017 by the Tron Foundation, the network supports smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps), and token issuance.
The native cryptocurrency, Tron, uses the ticker TRX and is divisible into one million “Sun” units. The platform originally issued TRX as an ERC‑20 token on Ethereum before migrating to its own mainnet. Tron’s ecosystem is governed by the Tron Foundation, which is registered in Singapore, making the network largely international in scope.
