Description
Chainlink is a decentralized oracle network that enables smart contracts on various blockchains to securely interact with real‑world data, APIs, and traditional payment systems. By aggregating data from multiple independent node operators, Chainlink aims to provide tamper‑resistant, reliable inputs and outputs for decentralized applications.
The native utility token, LINK, is used to compensate node operators for providing data services and to serve as collateral for guaranteeing the accuracy of the information supplied. Launched in 2017 by Chainlink Labs, LINK is an ERC‑20 token on the Ethereum blockchain and has been deployed on several other networks, including Polygon, Binance Smart Chain, and Avalanche. Holders can also participate in staking programs where available.
